In October 2001, a formal Philippine based company was founded in the Philippines, a gutsy and visionary move given the scrap metal market at the time. Auspiciously, however, the market soon entered a period of growth the following year. Both the market and the company haven't looked back since.

In November 2005, together with his core team locally, they incorporated Octogen Steel Inc. (OSI). The company started its own functionality when one of the founders inspired to prolong the business' visions and run the company on his own. Given his competent background in metal scrap industry, the support of his team's leader and the network established, OSI begins its journey. He foresaw the opportunity in metal scrap resources. At that time, he pushed an independent office despite of the market uncertainty. The market backed then was concentrated only in India and Thailand. Eventually, his instinct and trusts to his leader made his significant move in the market. Now, the company is selling ferrous and non-ferrous metals to local or foreign steel makers and after few months, it expanded its operation to Asia. From a fledgling company, OSI is now one of the leading wholesalers of scrap metals not only in the Philippines but also in China, Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, Korea, Japan and Singapore.

To date, OSI has a vast network of established junkshops supplying an average of 5,000 metric tons of scrap a month. In essence, OSI functions as one of the biggest sources of scrap metal in the Philippines. Our clients are stable, large scale steel mills that come from China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

Soon however, as the market's potential became more apparent. OSI improved its running the day to day operations, from securing the metal, inspecting shipments, to processing the requisite documentations. OSI is now known as a ONE STOP Shop where convenience is and product can be relied on all the time.
